# Configure UPS shipping profit margin

> Set the shipping profit margin percentage in DoorDesignOnline and see how a carrier quote and margin appear in the shopping cart total.

The **UPS shipping profit margin (%)** setting adds a percentage markup to the shipping quote shown in the provided checkout example. The resulting shipping charge appears in the customer's cart.

## Configure the margin

**1. Open Shipping**

In the [Admin Panel](https://admin.doordesignonline.com/dashboard/global-options/shipping), go to **Global Options → Shipping**.

**2. Enter the margin**

Set **UPS shipping profit margin (%)** to the desired percentage. For example, enter `10` for a 10% margin.

## How it affects the cart

The shipping calculation example shows a carrier rate plus a 10% margin:

| Shipping calculation | Amount |
| - | -: |
| UPS carrier quote | \$67.22 |
| Profit margin (10%) | \$6.72 |
| **Shipping displayed in cart** | **\$73.94** |

**Formula:** $67.22 + ($67.22 × 10%) = \$73.94, rounded to cents.

The calculation view also shows order weight and packing rules used to prepare the shipment.
